HI selene, Yes it can be mixed with rice and cooked in a rice cooker. The maize doesn’t have to be soaked before and the water measurements remains the same like when you cook rice. Well i like more rice and less maize in the mixture. But it is entirely upto you to decide the ratio of maize to rice (quantity). Good luck 🙂

recently visited Bhutan. We purchased a packet of Kharang Maize from OGOP.
I would like to know how to cook it. Can it be mixed together with uncooked rice and cook it with a rice cooker?
How much water do I need for 1 cup of maize?
Must the maize be soaked before use? If so, for how long, please?
Are there any other ways I can use this packet of maize?
